COVID-19 Update

As the situation with COVID-19 continues to evolve we know that there is a great deal of concern and uncertainty, so we wanted to reach out and update you on the efforts we are taking here at Center Stage to support good public health hygiene.  Our top priority is the safety, health, and wellbeing of our audiences, staff, and artists. We are working closely with our colleagues at Paseo Nuevo and with the Santa Barbara County Department of Public Health, monitoring the ongoing situation, and working to stay informed about the best recommendations.

We have implemented more stringent cleaning and disinfecting procedures at the theater.  All seat arms and door knobs will be disinfected before and after each performance.  All of our staff are required to wash their hands thoroughly before they begin working, limit physical contact with patrons and to stay home if they have any concern that they might be ill or are showing any symptoms of the disease.  We have hand sanitizer available at the box office, and in the lobby.  Due to the high demand for sanitizer we are attempting to keep enough on hand, but do encourage you to bring your own with you if you prefer.

At this time all scheduled performances will go on as planned.  If there are any changes to the schedule we will post the information to our website and social media, send out an email blast and contact all ticket buyers by email.  To offer increased planning flexibility during this time, we are waiving all single ticket exchange fees until further notice.  If you are unable to attend a performance due to illness, or if you have any other questions or concerns please contact the office 805-963-8198 or admin@centerstagetheater.org.

HERE ARE SOME STEPS YOU CAN TAKE:

Following the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Santa Barbara County Department of Public Health, we would also like to remind our audience members to:

  • Stay at home if you are feeling sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and hot water.
  • Avoid touching your face, mouth, and eyes.
  • Clean and disinfect high-touch areas and surfaces such as counters, tabletops, doorknobs, railings, light switches, toilets, phones, keyboards, remote controls, tablets, and bedside tables.
  • Practice simple social distancing strategies from those who are sick, such as verbal salutations instead of handshakes or hugs; not sharing utensils, cups, and linens; and keeping a distance of six feet apart.
We see every day the power that performance has to bring our community together, especially in difficult times. For now, that means continuing to be a home for the artists of our community.  We also want to keep our community safe, and that will remain the most important factor in our decisions about how to proceed as this situation continues to evolve.  Please stay safe and healthy, and we look forward to seeing you soon.
