BLUE HEART

A play by CARYL CHURCHILL

Directed by MAURICE LORD

The two short pieces that make up Blue Heart have been described by their author as "anti-plays." The first experiments with time, as a family awaits a visit from their daughter and the same familial scene is played, reset, and played again, with various outcomes. The second experiments with language, as a con man convinces each of several women that he is the son she gave up for adoption long ago. The New York Times calls Blue Heart "A love poem to the endless possibilities of theater... What could have [been] mere form-bending exercises acquire residual emotional depth that keeps you thinking about them."

With Meredith McMinn, Leslie Gangle Howe, Tom Hinshaw, Chris Turner, Kati Soleil, Emma-Jane Huerta, June Andron, Ellen K. Anderson, and Cambria Forden. Set by Tal Sanders; lights by Michael Smith; costumes by Mary Gibson; music by Parry Gripp.
