Ren is the free-spirited city kid from Chicago who moves with his mom to Bomont, a religious town in Texas where dancing and rock music is prohibited. As Ren tries to fit in, he battles the fears, misconceptions and the misunderstandings that come from being the "new kid." With his new friends, Ariel, the high spirited daughter of the minister who created the ban on dance and music and the down to earth Willard, who shows him that living in a small town has its advantages, Ren finds his way, discovers how to stand up for his beliefs, and revitalizes the spirit of the town.
