Last seen at the 2006 Lit Moon World Shakespeare Festival, Lit Moon’s Hamlet is back on stage in its third complete incarnation. Begun in 2000, this 80-minute “mini spectacle” stands as one of the company’s signature pieces, and features four actors, a composer-musician, and a gigantic paper set created by the late great Czech scenographer Milon Kalis. Words, action, space, and music all converge to create a haunting and heightened interpretation of Shakespeare’s great tragedy. The show has played in Santa Barbara on many occasions, toured to Europe and Canada, and been invited to play at the International Shakespeare Festival in Beijing, China, in the fall. Featuring James Connolly, Victoria Finlayson, Stanley Hoffman, Jeff Mills, and Sara Reynolds; Lighting Design by Theodore Michael Dolas; and Stage Managed by Elaine Galang. Directed by John Blondell.
