NEW BARD PRODUCTIONS PRESENTS

JULIANNE CAESAR

A new play by DAVID STARKEY

Directed by Michelle Osborne

Featuring Seth Baumhover, Serena Bottiani, Annie Chase, Tiffany Cole, Will deAngelis, Elyse Fults, Molly Payne, Jenalee Reidenbaugh, Tori Sanchez, M.C. Wolfe.

Et tu, Brute? In-fighting among contemporary coeds takes a page from bloody ancient Rome in Julianne Caesar. The play opens with the theater department of Connie Francis College preparing to put on an all-women production of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. Backstage rivalries mirror the on-stage doings of Shakespeare's tragedy: betrayal and ill omens which presage murder. The play bounces from the California-speak of the actors to their eloquent Shakespeare speeches, both in rehearsal and in moments of high emotion--often with a comic twist. Julianne Caesar premiered on the NYC fringe in June, 04 and follows New Bard's successful run of Starkey's Soccer Moms last winter at Center Stage. MORE
