SARAH HOUSE PRESENTS

ONE DAY: SARAH HOUSE

By Doris Baizley

World Premiere

Directed by Peter Lackner

Inspired by the pioneering work of Sarah House--the only “social model” hospice home in the nation--Los Angeles playwright Doris Baizley has written a play about 24 hours at this home for the dying poor. Baizley beautifully captures both the poignancy and the humorous moments filling the last days of the dying and those comforting them.

Each actor portrays a resident, a member of the staff, and a mythical character. In 24 hours, there are many transitions through the thresholds of day and night, waking and dreaming, myth and reality, and life and death, suspending time while other dimensions expand. Featuring Jennifer Aquino, Henry Brown, Laurel Lyle, Devin Scott, Matt Tavianini, and Tom Lackner as musical director/percussionist.

Special Gala Performance with reception and music on Saturday, March 28: Tickets $50 (some tickets at regular prices for that performance as well).
