Recovery Works Theater & Central Office AA Santa Barbara presents

OUR EXPERIENCE HAS TAUGHT US: A SENSATIONAL HISTORY OF OUR TWELVE TRADITIONS

Directed by Jackie B.

With a sweeping cast of characters that includes Bill and Lois Wilson, Dr. Bob and Anne Smith, Clarence S., Marty Mann, Cleveland Indian’s catcher Rollie Hemsley and the starlet Lillian Roth, Our Experience Has Taught Us dramatizes the experiences of the first A.A. groups in Ohio, New York and California. Powerful and entertaining, this play brings to life the often comical and sometimes tragic experiences that led to the adoption of the Twelve Traditions. Our Experience Has Taught Us is an unforgettable journey into their group histories, celebrating the precious unity of Alcoholics Anonymous. Two Acts.

“You had us long-timers all in the palms of your hands and we just surfed the wave of emotion. Masterfully done.”

Jay S., author and historian (2015)

“Jackie B. is one of the best recovery historians of the new generation and a master storyteller. [...] Her play had the people in the audience laughing, crying, standing on their feet and applauding, and being totally pulled into the vivid tales which she spun.”

Glenn Chesnut, author and historian (2015)
