This is Not Content

Music & Lyrics by Jeremy Cone
Choreography by Nika Antuanette

October 21, 2023

This Is Not Content is a multimedia show that explores the human experience in the digital age. The title is a playful reference to René Magritte’s surrealist painting, “The Treachery Of Images.” As lines blur between online and offline, between technology and nature, and between connection and isolation, we ask: What is content? Who owns content? Are we content? This show combines dance, music, and visuals with an aim to create something accessible, relatable, and engaging while sharing a viable connection between the different pieces.

“I wish that you could be here to live this moment, too. But I’ll settle for what’s possible and share it here with you.”

Moving Dance Company is a project-based company making works for the stage and screen. Recent works include View/Chew (Versatility Dance Festival in Boulder, CO & Washington D.C., 2023) and HOLOGRAM (Nebula Dance Festival, 2022). @movingdanceco recently premiered This Is Not Content at a Boston Art Gallery in the Summer of 2023. More magic on the horizon!

Thank you to everyone in the community who supported us through this prolonged intermission. We would not still be here without your support.
