The inaugural Lit Moon World Shakespeare Festival takes place October 12 through 22, 2006, at the Lobero Theatre, Center Stage Theater, and other area venues in Santa Barbara. The eleven-day festival features seven companies from five countries mounting nine plays, including three world premieres. There are also related panel discussions, addresses, an art exhibit, music and performance art, and social events. Inspired by the Shakespearean Festival in Gdansk, Poland, this is the only international Shakespeare Festival in the United States.

Subscriptions are priced at $190 for all nine shows ($110 for students). Multi-show packages are available, offering significant discounts against single ticket prices.
