Cameron Tummel’s CD Release Party

Celebrate the Completion of Fundamental Djembe SOLOS 4/4 Volume One with four hours of African drumming, singing and dancing! Drumming performance by Senegalese master drummer Malik Sow, Fundamental Djembe SOLOS drum class with Cameron Tummel, West African dance performance and interactive with Lisa Beck and Budhi Harlow, performance by the HOT SHOTS Youth Percussion Ensemble, and additional special guest performers.

The Fundamental Djembe SOLOS CD is all musical call-and-response, making it a very unique instructional recording. All tracks feature the lead djembe drum supported by bells, dunun (bass drums), and accompanying djembes, so you practice playing your leads within a full ensemble. Ten Play-Along instructional tracks, a performance track, a welcome track, and a track for you to be the lead player: everything you need to sound like a pro. Fundamental Djembe SOLOS is available locally at Folk Mote Music and online at iTunes.com.

Cameron will share material from the CD as a live class at the party. Drums will be available, or bring your favorite from home. Be ready for amazing drumming from locally and internationally acclaimed performers, and a little (lightweight) African dancing for everyone. This will be a celebration of local artistry not to be missed. Comfortable clothing and a playful attitude strongly recommended.
